Watching the national news this morning it seems I wasn’t the only one as around 3000 people also became stranded in Hampshire.

Taking the decision that it could take me many hours to get back home and may have had to abandon my car in the middle of the countryside between Basingstoke and Tadley, I was lucky enough to get to a nearby hotel and book a room for the night, making it back home safely though slowly at 10mph and never leaving 2nd gear, this morning.

Indeed the Apollo Hotel became a rest centre for many, offering their conference room for sleeping arrangements, and providing refreshments for all. The community spirit was a joy to see!

Other work collegaues leaving the office at 3pm like myself didn’t make it home until 2am this morning.

Fortunately all employees at GemaTech have the ability to be able to continue working from home, providing continuity for our business in such circumstances as this, whether a disruption is caused by severe snow, illness or other disaster.

All our employees have escaped the Basingstoke Gridlock, either calling or emailing one another to ensure that all are home and working in a safe environment.
