How would your business cope if your employees could not get into the office because the roads are icy due to a lack of grit? Today the AA has made a bold claim that half of the UK’s local authorities only have enough road salt for six days of continuous freezing. If you have a diminished workforce in your offices, can you be assured that your business can still operate effectively? Do you have a home working policy to enable your employees to work from home?

Government Employs ‘Just-In-Time’ Grit Strategy
It appears that the government’s strategy is not to stockpile grit but to operate a ‘just-in-time’ strategy – the same strategy which left many people stranded at home, or struggling to get into work on February 2nd this year. Myself included. Had the minor roads been gritted as well as the major routes, I would have not sacrificed hours of my time getting to and from work.

Severe Weather Warning This Week
Weather Forecasters have been predicting a particularly cold couple of weeks with snow likely in norther parts of England this week. More widespread snow, sleet and icy weather is set for next week.

Home Working Could Be The Solution
If your employees are stranded at home because roads are too treacherous to navigate due to lack of grit, how will your organisation ensure that key deadlines aren’t missed or calls from customers are still answered? Enabling employees to continue to work from home is the most appropriate solution…
