Really nice blog on cloud computing. Cloud Computing is the next generation computing technique being used these days. Most of the IT companies are using this technology. I myself have been searching about this. Thanks for the blog. I'll keep visiting your website.

Thanks for the swift reply Jon and the clear up in the numbering issue.

I personally think that compliance and industry standards can be treated quite separately. One is for governing the practice of business continuity and the other is ensuring that companies are compliant with external reglautory bodies, for example the FSA requires all regulated organisations to voice record landline calls and it is highly anticipated that they will bring in regulation for voice recording mobile phone calls very soon.

One of the points in the article mentioned two items. I edited the article for content and style but didn't label each point by number. If anything, it was a design mistake ... and I do all the design. My bad.

Compliance probably falls under "exploring industry standards" but it is always a major issue. Thanks for reading and providing the link.

Clearly not all jobs are suitable for remote working. I certainly don't see shop assistants working from home!

How many people actually need to go to the council offices for services from them? They only choose to be in the town centres because that is where the offices have always been. Clearly they need to be there for registrations eg. births, deaths and marriages. But what about the people who are not customer facing?

There are pleanty of back office staff who could perform their jobs more cost effectively from another location...

"However if the scheme does take off then it strengthens the argument for allowing widespread remote working for jobs"

Shelve stacking by remote control ? Serving customers by remote control ?

Making things in a factory by remote control ?

If the councils advocate such workings, why do they have their offices in the town or city center with loads of employees and enormous car parks ? Most of what they do, could be done this way I think.
