The Emergency Services Show once again returns to Coventry next week and over 5000 people have already registered, have you? The event organisers have said the interest is huge this year, and looks like promising an uplift on the 2008 attendance.‘
According to one Emergency Services Show enthusiast:
The show is rapidly developing into the annual ‘must attend’ event for all procurement managers in the public safety and security sector – it’s like HOSDB, Firex and Copex etc rolled into one.’
Allan Sneller, MPS Procurement Services
I am hoping that the two day event will yield the same calibre of delegates we met with at the Business Continuity Management conference held last week.
The conference boasts a wealth of senior speakers talking on the subjects of the Olympics, Swine Flu Pandemic, the ongoing threat of terrorism and mass emergency evacuation – a timely subject considering the floods this week. I just personally hope that all aspects of emergency response are treated with equal importance and necessity as it can be so easy to focus on the tangible problems and solutions, and not on ‘invisible’ technology which we easily take for granted.
I wonder whether the recent floods in Cumbria, Wales and Scotland will help drive up visitors looking for the latest solutions for coping with such extreme weather and the devestating consequences, which to be honest could happen at any time in any part of the country. From life boats to flood barriers, emergency supplies, blankets and mobile casualty tents the show will be presenting the best in emergency response, not forgetting of course the launch of our new Portable Recovery Unit for emergency telecoms recovery.
